Privacy notice

Draft for the beta. Final wording is being reviewed. Last updated 26 October 2026.

Who we are

Bariplate is a recovery companion for people after bariatric surgery. It's provided by Reverbia AI Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom, which is the controller of your data. Questions or requests: privacy@bariplate.app.

What we collect

Why we use it, and our legal basis

To show your progress against the targets your clinical team sets. Bariplate doesn't diagnose, recommend treatment or give medical advice.

Your health information is special category data. We only use it with your explicit consent, which you give when you set up the app. We record when you agreed. To withdraw consent, delete your account in Settings.

We use your email and account details to provide the service you signed up for.

We don't sell your data, show ads or use analytics trackers.

Meal photo estimates

When you use Snap, your photo and your current stage go to an AI service (Anthropic or Google) to estimate what's on the plate. We don't send your name, email or account ID. Nutrient values come from food databases, not the AI, and nothing is saved until you confirm it.

Where it's stored

New Zealand and Australian accounts are stored with Supabase in Sydney, Australia. United Kingdom accounts will be stored in London.

Because Reverbia AI Ltd is a UK company, storing New Zealand and Australian accounts in Sydney is a transfer outside the UK. It's protected by our data processing agreement with Supabase, which includes the UK's approved transfer terms.

Your choices and rights

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Backups are removed on a rolling basis.
